Currently reading: Rather than just one book, I’m currently reading daily through an app/site called Substack. I first heard about it from an article in my favorite magazine, The Week. It’s an online platform that allows writers to send digital newsletters directly to subscribers. Many of my favorites are even free. I like A Lawyer Writes by Joshua Rozenberg QC and Anne Byrn: Between the Layersby Anne herself.
The selection is vast; everyone is sure to find a few they’ll really enjoy. As far as their business model goes, they recently paused efforts to raise capital and I’m hoping it is only due to current conditions for new offerings and that I’ll be able to enjoy them for a long time to come.

Notable Quote:“Surely, in the light of history, it is more intelligent to hope rather than to fear, to try rather than not to try. . .” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

Really delicious things eaten:

Veracruz Fish Chowder at Lure Fish House -perfectly spicy and it is never too hot outside for met to still enjoy soups and chowders. The fresh oysters were great as well (lots of fresh horseradish).
Scoop & Joy – coconut and pineapple ice cream. No toppings needed.
Scallops – I’ve just been throwing them in a saute pan and experimenting with seasoning. So far garlic and chili oil are winning served with brown rice and spinach. If you’ve got a good recipe for baked scallops, send it over.

Take care and have a great July!
